Tamworth Bird Walks

Tamworth’s Spring Bird Walks

2017 Schedule: TBA in the spring

Wednesdays, at 7:00 am – Tamworth Town House Parking

Each spring, the Tamworth Conservation Commission offers free bird walks every Wednesday morning for 5 or 6 weeks during peak migration.  The series starts in April and continues through mid/late May.  Meet at 7:00 am at the Tamworth Town House parking area, 1/4 mile west of the Town Offices (which are at 84 Main Street – see directions).  We take short drives and walks to fine birding sites in Tamworth and surrounding towns.  Rain or shine, but not in a deluge.  Binoculars helpful.  All levels of experience welcome.

Ned Beecher has lived in Tamworth with his wife Chris Clyne since 1988 and is currently Chair of the local Conservation Commission. He has led these local annual bird walks for about 20 years, five Wednesdays each spring, at the insistence of the late Betty Steele, following in the able footsteps of Peg Damon, who started them for the Commission in 1976.
